Crocus Bulbs

This is the true autumn crocus, and perhaps the finest of all autumn-flowering bulbs. They come from the Middle East, and enjoy hot sunny conditions with a good baking for the dormant corms in summer. The plants are quite neat for autumn bulbs, and may be grown in rock gardens or at the edge of shrub and flower borders where they catch all the available sunshine.

Crocus are ideal for naturalising and look wonderful in large drifts. Alternatively they can be grown in a pot or pan, topped with grit, so that the delicate blooms can be admired at close quarters.
